LOS ANGELES - Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences akhirnya mengumumkan daftar lengkap nominasi Oscar 2021. Priyanka Chopra dan Nick Jonas membacakan daftar nominasi pada Senin (15/3/2021) pagi waktu setempat.

Melansir Variety, Mank memimpin dengan 10 nominasi. Film Netflix tersebut masuk di kategori-kategori besar seperti Best Picture dan Best Actor.

Piala Oscar

Menyusul di belakang Mank adalah The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Minari, Nomadland, Sound of Metal dan The Trial of the Chicago 7, masing-masing dengan 6 nominasi. Promising Young Woman membuntuti dengan 5 nominasi.

Kategori paling mengejutkan dan menarik perhatian ada di Best Director. Untuk pertama kalinya, penyelenggara memasukkan sutradara perempuan dalam nominasi, yakni Chloe Zhao (Nomadland) dan Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman).

Oscar 2021 akan digelar pada 25 April waktu setempat atau 26 April pagi WIB di Dolby Theatre serta Union Station, Los Angeles. Awalnya, ajang penghargaan film tertinggi dunia ini akan dihelat pada 28 Februari lalu, namun diundur karena COVID-19.
